A serving spoon carved with axe and knife from pear wood measuring approx. 21.5cm in length, featuring relief carved owl and bark-texture on the handle.
Carved from a thick piece of pear wood, sourced from a local tree surgeon friend, I was inspired by the contrasting colours of the heart- and sapwood in this piece to emulate an owl resting in a hole in a tree, using the darker heartwood as a backdrop to the much paler owl. This spoon would work well as a server or small ladle.

Care for your woodeware:
Do not put in the dishwasher! Wash with warm soapy water, avoid soaking and dry soon after.
Once or twice a year you can oil with walnut, linseed, foodsafe mineral oil or something similar.
With regular use the woodenware will form a patina. This adds to both the strength and character of the utensil.
