A spoon carved carved by axe and knife from walnut sapwood, featuring chip carving on the handle, owl finial and measuring 15.5cm in length. Lightly carbonised and finished with walnut oil and beeswax.
This spoon comes from a stash of walnut wood gifted to me by a local tree surgeon friend. I've always loved owls, and this is my first attempt to incorporate this wise creature of the night into a spoon.

Care for your woodeware:
Do not put in the dishwasher! Wash with warm soapy water, avoid soaking and dry soon after.
Once or twice a year you can oil with walnut, linseed, foodsafe mineral oil or something similar.
With regular use the woodenware will form a patina. This adds to both the strength and character of the utensil.
