Rustic style cup holds approx. 200mL, hand carved from horse chestnut using axe and knife.
Lightly carbonised and finished with food safe walnut oil and beeswax.

This cup comes from the remainder of wood I harvested from a naturally fallen horse chestnut tree in Tooting Common in 2019. This was one of the first types of wood I had in abundance to carve, and this cup design is built upon some of the first cups I ever carved. The round bottom makes it ideal for camping or picnics as is sits comfortably on grass, soil, sand or snow. However the original idea was to make a cup that should be held until the coffee, or other hot drink, is finished. This is also suitable for any other beverage of your choice!

Care for your woodeware:
Do not put in the dishwasher! Wash with warm soapy water, avoid soaking and dry soon after.
Once or twice a year you can oil with walnut, linseed, foodsafe mineral oil or something similar.
With regular use the woodenware will form a patina. This adds to both the strength and character of the utensil.
