Cup and eating spoon carved with axe and knife from Damson wood. The cup is approx. 21cm long, 9cm high at the handle, 7cm high at the rim and holds roughly 250mL. The spoon is approx. 13cm long. Both feature textured carving on the handles.
Damson is not something I've carved a lot of, and I was fortunate to recieve a rather large, beautifully figured piece from a tree surgeon. The cup features some burl on the rim and sides, giving it a "Jupiter's eye" effect when viewed from the side. Suitable for both hot and cold liquids.
The spoon was carved from an offcut of this same log, and the matching textured handles are both eye-catching and comfortable to grip.

Care for your woodeware:
Do not put in the dishwasher! Wash with warm soapy water, avoid soaking and dry soon after.
Once or twice a year you can oil with walnut, linseed, foodsafe mineral oil or something similar.
With regular use the woodenware will form a patina. This adds to both the strength and character of the utensil.
