An eating spoon carved with axe and knife from cypress wood measuring aprox. 15.5cm in length and featuring carved mushroom decoration on the handle. Finished with walnut oil and beeswax.
The bit of cypress this spoon was carved from was given to me by a fellow carver at a spoon club in 2021. It has a beautiful warm colouration with clear growth rings in the bowl and a little knot in the handle where a branch would have tried to grow. The idea for the mushrrom decoration came after the shape of the spoon was finished, which I felt had a fairy-like quality to it.

Care for your woodeware:
Do not put in the dishwasher! Wash with warm soapy water, avoid soaking and dry soon after.
Once or twice a year you can oil with walnut, linseed, foodsafe mineral oil or something similar.
With regular use the woodenware will form a patina. This adds to both the strength and character of the utensil.
