An eating spoon carved from spalted beech, measuring approx 17cm in length. Finished with walnut oil and beeswax.
While in the north of Italy early in 2022 my partner and I came accross a huge fallen beech tree. I took one decent branch with a few curves in it as a souvineer, not realising it would have such beatiful spalting and colour inside! This is one of a handful of spoons carved from that branch, though the spalting in the bowl is particularly beautiful here.

Care for your woodeware:
Do not put in the dishwasher! Wash with warm soapy water, avoid soaking and dry soon after.
Once or twice a year you can oil with walnut, linseed, foodsafe mineral oil or something similar.
With regular use the woodenware will form a patina. This adds to both the strength and character of the utensil.
